GRAHAMSVILLE -- It was a busy Thursday afternoon of high school sports action at Tri-Valley Central School. The slate of games included a track meet where the Bears competed against Eldred, Fallsburg and Liberty; the Lady Bears' softball team facing off against division rival Sullivan West, and the Bears' baseball team hosted Chapel Field.

Here's how things played out …

On the Diamond

The Bears varsity baseball team defeated the visiting Lions of Chapel Field, 10-6. Austin Hartman was the winning pitcher for Tri-Valley in relief, striking out eight and only allowing four hits and two earned runs.

Jacob Yager, Hartman, Sean Feliciano, and David Allison each had two hits for T-V, while Yager knocked in two RBI.

Tri-Valley's baseball team, like Eldred's varsity softball team did last week, improves to 10-0.

It was also an exciting evening for the Tri-Valley varsity softball team, who punched their ticket to the playoffs with a 14-4 win over Sullivan West.

“We were down a starter and had several girls step up to fill big shoes,” said T-V Softball Coach Kim Costa.

The Lady Bulldogs had the home team on their heels scoring three runs in the first inning, but T-V responded with four runs of their own, and from there didn't look back, pulling away with a 7-run third inning.

Alex Allison had three RBIs for the Lady Bears, while senior captain Jordan Costa had 12 strikeouts on the mound for T-V. Costa also went 4-4 with two doubles and 3 RBIs on the offensive end.
