NEVERSINK — New York State Police have reported that on December 5, at approximately 3:24 a.m., State Police from the Liberty barracks responded to a report of a single vehicle crash along State Route 55 in the town of Neversink in which a woman was declared deceased at the scene.

According to a press release issued by the New York State Police on Monday, the victim of the crash, Erica Vilaca from Grahamsville, age 30, was traveling when the vehicle left the road off the west shoulder due to as of yet undetermined reasons. The vehicle, a 2014 Jeep Compass, struck a ditch and continued across State Route 55. The vehicle then struck a guide rail and proceeded to roll over.

Vilaca was the single occupant of the vehicle.

Vilaca was an employee for Mobilemedic EMS.

"Our Mobilemedic EMS family lost a sweet, adorable, skilled young lady to a tragic motor vehicle accident. We are all sickened, devastated, and traumatized by this tragedy; and doing our best to cope with our deep sorrow. We ask that you keep Erica's family and the Mobilemedic family in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you," said Founder of Mobilemedic EMS, Albee Bockman, in an online post.

Assisting State Police in responding to the fatal crash were Mobilemedic EMT’s Neversink Volunteer Fire Department, and New York State Department of Environmental Conservation.

New York State Police say the fatal crash is still under investigation.
