Greater Honesdale Partnership's ByLaw changes approves new Executive Board Structure

HONESDALE, PA - GHP's Annual Meeting was held November 5 at the Honesdale High School Auditorium.

Speakers included Paul Macknosky, Regional Director with Department of Community and Economic Development, Northeast Regional Office, Pittston and Ishan Tigunait, Executive Director of the Himalayan Institute and Chairman of Yoga International. He also serves as Managing Director of Himalayan Institute India. Ishan is also co-founder of Moka Origins.

Members voted to change GHP's Bylaws restructuring their Executive Board to include a 1st Vice President and 2nd Vice President. Kim Fisch was elected 1st Vice President while Jill Hessling was elected 2nd Vice president, Olivia Santo elected as Secretary, Dr. Michael Rogers, Treasurer and Brian Wilken will serve his final year as President.

2020 Volunteer of the Year “Horatio Allen Award” winner was Brian Batten, owner of Fin's and Feather's. His long-time dedication to decorating Honesdale for the holidays and Co-Chair of the Events Committee has been priceless to Greater Honesdale Partnership. Brian spends countless hours bringing fun events and festive decorations to the park every year.

The Downtown Honesdale Revitalization results were shown a second time with plans to take it on the road, starting at the Wayne Memorial Hospital on November 9 & 10 in the glass corridor connecting the older and newer areas of the hospital.

Executive Director, Lisa Burns reported the organization's priorities changed during the COVID-19 shut down to a more community focused mindset. The first thing they did was turn on Honesdale's beloved star to help the community feel more connected during the crisis.
