Harvesting and Growing Native Seeds

Join us as we learn: How and when to harvest seeds, site preparation, seed stratification techniques, simple methods to germinate native seeds, tools and supplies, How to care for native seedlings and a profile of a dozen plants growing in our Native Plant Garden. After the lecture, head outside to harvest seeds from MEEC's Native Garden. Cost is $10/person ($5 Admission + $5 supply fee) Mamakating Enviromental Education Center, 762 South Road in Wurtsboro.
