Helen Wilson of Liberty, NY, a clerk and a lifelong area resident, died Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at the Care Center at Sunset Lake, Liberty, NY. She was 97.

The daughter of the late Clifford and Edith Stodart Moore, she was born March 27, 1923 in Loch Sheldrake, NY.

Helen, known to most as “Gramma” was an avid New York Yankees Fan, you could always count on her to be watching the games and rooting for their wins; she loved her house plants and enjoyed watching the cows and calves in the pasture outside her home. She was a caring mother and grandmother and will be deeply missed by all of her family and friends.

Survivors include one son, Robert Wilson, Sr.; one daughter-in-law, Kathy Wilson and her companion Barry Klein; four grandchildren, Robert, Jr. and his wife Jasmine, Tammy and her husband Damon, Kristen and her husband David and Jennifer and her husband Patrick; seven great grandchildren, Tyler, Jeremy, Robert, Joshua, Christopher, Jonah and Meah; and one great great grandchild, Braiden; two special nieces, Dixie Lee Sacks and Diana Garland; and her beloved cat, Josie.

She was predeceased by her husband, George Wilson, Sr.; one brother, William Moore; two sons, George Wilson, Jr. and Donald Wilson; one daughter, Wanda Mesnard and her husband Carson; three grandchildren, Tonya, Kevin and Terry; and one daughter-in-law, Linda Martin; and her beloved pet parrot, Spanky.

Visitation will be Friday, October 23, 2020 from 10 AM to 11 AM in the Harris Funeral Home, West St. at Buckley, Liberty, NY. Funeral services will be at 11 AM in the funeral home. The Rev. Bridgette LeConey will officiate. Social distancing guidelines must be met, a limited number of people at one time will be allowed in the funeral home, facemasks are required.

Memorial contributions in Helen's name may be made to a charity of one's choice.
