SULLIVAN COUNTY -- It's a great time for local basketball fans, as high school playoffs kicks off this weekend. SUNY Sullivan is also in postseason action at the collegiate level, hosting the Region XV Tournament. Here's a look at the action!

High School

On the boys side, we have five county teams who earned a postseason berth. In Class A, the Monticello Panthers secured the No. 2 seed and will host No. 7 seeded Wallkill in the ‘Pit' on Monday at 6 p.m.

In Class B, the Liberty Indians are the No. 8 seed and will have their hands full on Saturday night, when they travel to Marlboro to take on the top-seeded Iron Dukes. That game is set for 7 p.m.

In Class C, Sullivan West and Tri-Valley will be in action on Saturday. The No. 3 seeded Bears host the No. 6 seeded Rhinebeck Hawks at 3 p.m., while the No. 5 seeded Bulldogs battle No. 4 seeded S.S. Seward in Florida at 6 p.m.

In Class D, the top-seeded Livingston Manor Wildcats will take on Chapel Field in their class title game at SUNY Sullivan on Wednesday at 6 p.m.

On the girls side of the bracket, we have only two county teams that qualified.

In Class C, the Tri-Valley Bears will be in action next week, but Section 9 did not release the bracket before press time.

The Livingston Manor Lady Wildcats are back-to-back Section 9 champions and will once again advance to States. Last year they beat Eldred in the Section 9 title game, and this year are champs by default as the only team in their division to qualify.

SUNY Sullivan

The Generals are hosting the 2019-20 NJCAA Region XV DII Men's & Women's Basketball Championships this weekend. Games will be played in ‘The Bunker' at the Paul Gerry Fieldhouse.

The Sullivan Generals have secured the No. 1 seed for both the Men's and Women's tournaments. Here's the full schedule!
