MONTGOMERY – This year’s 7th annual Hudson Valley Gives was a tremendous success, raising more than $600,000 for 181 local nonprofits. The fully online fundraiser is hosted by the Community Foundation of Orange and Sullivan (CFOS). The initiative provides organizations with a platform to reach online donors through a focused 24-hour collaborative effort. A total of $619,455 and counting has been raised for 181 organizations from 3,566 donors.

“Giving local is the best way to ensure that the critical nonprofit services we all depend on each day are supported, and we’re honored to raise awareness and funds for so many amazing organizations through HV Gives,” said Nicole Feller Lee, CFOS Director of Development and Communications.

“HV Gives wouldn’t be possible without the generous support of local businesses and individuals,” said Elizabeth Rowley, CFOS President & CEO. “For the seventh year running, they stepped up big time to give more than half a million dollars to nonprofits right here in our communities!”

Most of the more than $600,000 raised was donated online over a 24-hour period on Wednesday, May 18 to support organizations throughout the Hudson Valley.

The event’s donations support charities in seven counties providing life-enriching programs and critical services that Hudson Valley residents appreciate or depend upon. When combined with giving totals from years past, charitable giving through Hudson Valley Gives now stands at nearly $3 million.

Bethel Woods Center for the Arts raised the most of all the participating nonprofits in Sullivan County, a total of $4,138 from its generous online donor base.

“While the Hudson Valley is known for its stunning landscape and rich history, what truly sets us apart are the big hearts of our residents,” added Eric Frances, CEO of Bethel Woods Center for the Arts. “We are truly grateful for the meaningful contributions that Bethel Woods received from HV Gives campaign and equally thrilled that 180 other nonprofits also benefited from the collective generosity of the community.”

Participating organizations were encouraged to fundraise creatively by the awarding of cash prizes throughout the day from a prize pool established thanks to donations from local businesses. Hudson Valley Gives corporate sponsors include Healey Brothers, Resorts World Catskills, Standback General Contractors, Walden Savings Bank, Billy Joe’s Ribworks, Mid-Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union, Rowley Family Foundation, Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine, GiveGab, Newburgh Brewing Company, Coombe Bender & Company, Garnet Health, Seely & Durland Insurance, Orange County Chamber of Commerce, Day Seckler LLP, Hudson Valley Investment Advisors, Lanc & Tully, Sullivan County Chamber of Commerce, Church Communities, William A.
