I love my town

To the editor:

I am excited to announce my candidacy for the Town of Highland Supervisor. I love my town and would be honored to serve the great people I have called neighbors and friends for over 15 years.

We need to navigate the town into the 21st century while still maintaining the character and beauty of the area, AND respecting the will of the people. For far too long, the leadership in our town has only represented the interests of the chosen few and this needs to change.

I am seeking the Democratic endorsement via the caucus on June 23rd at The Eldred Preserve at 6 p.m. The outgoing Democratic committee leader has been organizing behind the scenes and has vowed to pack the caucus to cross endorse the incumbent Republican challenger—I am asking for your support, not only for my candidacy, but in an effort to maintain voters’ rights, to have choice and not a dictatorship.

I have also recently established the Lifting Neighbors Bi-Partisan independent party with town council candidates Laura Burrell (D) and Margaret Granese (R).

We are all much more alike and party lines should not define us, nor prevent us from doing good things for each other. I have a proven track record as chairman of the Upper Delaware Scenic Byway Committee of working with our county and state Republican and Democratic leaders to accomplish great things for our river communities.

The time is now to support a new path forward for our town. I vow to bring meaningful new jobs to the area and lower taxes. We need to look out for our seniors and veterans by establishing programs, grant funding, and overall visibility. We need to treat our law enforcement and highway departments with dignity and respect--they are our lifeline. We need to stabilize our codes and laws, and get our code enforcement and building inspectors to act cohesively and with proper training.

More than anything, I am excited to meet everyone and hear their story. Every voice matters, and I am committed to representing our common goals and values.
