Jane Gettel, of Kauneonga Lake, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 17, 2019 at Achieve Rehab and Nursing Facility in Liberty, New York. She was 92.

The daughter of the late James Burleigh and Janet Ferguson Burleigh, she was born on May 22, 1927 in Mahoopany, PA.

Jane was a Register Nurse at both the Hamilton Avenue Hospital and Catskill Regional Medical Center. She was an active member of the Kauneonga Lake Community being a member of the Methodist Church, the Kauneonga Lake Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, The Bethel Smallwood Senior Citizen Club, a member of the Red Hat Society and was a past Bethel Senior of the year.

She is survived by her children Gary Gettel and his wife Noreen of Moravia, NY, Robert Gettel and his wife Donna of Annapolis, MD, William Gettel and his wife Bette Jean of Cochecton, NY and Daniel Gettel of Kauneonga Lake, NY; three grandchildren James Gettel and his wife Jody of Moravia, NY, Kelly Proper and her husband Jared of Moravia, NY, and Ashley Gettel of Cochecton, NY; four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband of 39 years, Russell Gettel, her son, Douglas Gettel, her brothers James and David, and her sisters Mildred and Carol.

Visitation was held on Thursday, November 21, 2019 from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm at Colonial-Ramsay Funeral Home, 3534 Route 55, Kauneonga Lake, NY 12749. A funeral service was held at the funeral home on Thursday, November 21, 2019 at 8pm.
