Reminder: The AOH Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade will be held on Saturday, March 16th at 1 p.m.! Joining them, the McPadden Pipes & Drums, AOH Sullivan Brothers, and our own Jeffersonville Protection Hose #1. They welcome all Fire Departments, Ambulance Corps/Rescue Units, Businesses floats and participation, kids’ groups, marchers, marching bands, dancers, antique car clubs, and veteran groups. Lineup at Noon on Willy Avenue – Chapel Street is an “alcohol free” zone for the kids. Call JP at 845-807-7980 for FMI.
The Holiday Mountain is looking for more Ski Patrol people. Training class starts at Holiday this Spring and class size is limited for a full “Outdoor Emergency Care” Course. Also offered, an abbreviated “bridge” class for medical professionals (EMTs, RNs and MDs). Volunteers get Family Season Passes. “Barbara’s Bunch” has five events at the Villa Roma scheduled! April 9th features a “Tribute to Barry Manilow” (must reserve by March 25th), next on May 21st, a “Tribute to ABBA”, then May 29th, a “Tribute to John Denver & Olivia Newton John”, June 4th features a “Doo Wop Show” and on October 15th, a “Tribute to Billy Joel”. Cost for each $65. Transportation not included -drive to 356 Villa Roma Road, Callicoon. Lunch is included for each show, you must contact Barbara for menu information and to reserve your seat(s). Barbara has planned another great time on July 31st at noon, at the Forestburgh Playhouse featuring “Beautiful”. Cost is $70 and includes a buffet lunch with the Matinee Show. The Western Sullivan Public Library (Jeffersonville Branch)is accepting book donations during normal business hours in preparation for their August Firehouse Book Sale! Please make sure your donated books are clean, readable, and in overall good condition. They do not take dictionaries, encyclopedias, textbooks, or magazines. The WSPL is holding a Zoom event on Wednesday, March 13th at 6 p.m. – “The Sun Will Darken April 8th” presented by Joe Rao. This virtual presentation will examine the mechanics of what causes eclipses as well as how you can safely observe and enjoy this amazing astronomical event.
