Cornell Cooperative Extension Sullivan County ‘s Beginner Farmer Program is working with Unbroken Acres to host a workshop on Water Management for Farms.
This workshop will take place from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Monday, August 5th. Participants will meet and learn from Anna Zabirova, owner, and operator of Unbroken Acres, as well as Victor Ziminsky, owner of Let It Grow Landscapes.
Anna and Victor will accompany participants on a guided farm tour at Unbroken Acres and expand on real life examples of water management techniques. Additionally, Anna and Victor will overview the use of land grade and swales on contour to focus on water movement over farm property.
A question-and-answer session on the topics covered will close out the workshop. There is no fee, but preregistration is required to participate. Participants can register online at sullivancce.org/events.

The Western Sullivan Public Friends of the Library Annual Firehouse Book Sale will be held on August 8th, 9th, and 10th at the Jeffersonville Firehouse. The Friends need your help!
Sign up at the Jeffersonville Branch or call the library at 845-482-4350 if you can volunteer to move the boxes, set up, help during the sale, or pack up after the sale.
Save the Date: the Grahamsville Little World’s Fair is coming in August and includes the Sullivan County 4-H Livestock Auction on August 18th at 1 p.m.in the upper show ring!
Come out and support the Sullivan County 4-H youth at the auction. Visit the 4-H barns and animals too. Beth Sykes and her 15-month-old brown Swiss steer, Tiger will be there and it is her final year after showing most of her life. Stop in and support our 4-H youth and their many projects.
