The flower gardens down Main Street are beginning to shape up with the colors of red, white and bluish colored flowers.

Many thanks to the Renaissance team that came to town last week, our Intern and also a big thank you to the JEMS (our town’s beautification group) for all their hard work weeding & mulching. Take a look at the “Memorial Clock Garden” the next time you are on Main Street!

JEMS is always looking for new members. They meet every third Thursday at 7 p.m. in the basement of the First Presbyterian church in Jeffersonville. You make your own time to help with the beautification of town and at their events, helping as much or as little as you want. Follow their Facebook page to see what they are up to. Contact Sue at (845) 482-5354 with any questions!

The Western Sullivan Public Library is hosting a Virtual Program about Smallmouth Bass Fishing on the Upper Delaware River with fishing guide and casting instructor, Evan Padua.

Did you know that the Upper Delaware River is home to some of the best Smallmouth Bass fishing in the United States? And July and August are the perfect time to fish for those “smallies”! Join local Professional Angler, Evan Padua, via Zoom, Wednesday, June 30th at 6 p.m.

Evan Padua is the second generation of the Sweetwater Guide Service, a leading guide service in the Upper Delaware River region for the past 27 years! They fly and spin fish for a variety of species in the river, including Trout, Bass, Shad and Walleye. Join Evan for a seminar of “how-to” spin and fly fishing for smallmouth bass. For more information, and to register for the Zoom link, visit the calendar at WSPLonline. org, or call (845) 252-3360.

Domesticities & The Cutting Garden (located at 4055 State Route 52, Youngsville) is hosting an opening reception on June 19th from 3-5 p.m. They will be featuring new work from Jeffersonville’s Barbara Winfield.

Choosing imagery that is both nostalgic and amusing, she’s found that these post WWII images reflect society then as well as now. These works combine two major mid-20th century art movements: Abstract Painting and Pop Art with a great sense of humor thrown in!

The reception will be held inside and outside, ensuring that all who attend will have an opportunity to see the work while maintaining a respectful distance from others. Masks will be required inside. Barbara Winfield is an artist and writer specializing in Art & Interior Design. Her experience includes full time editorial positions at several national home furnishings magazines and is the recipient of several awards.

Tickets are out for the Annual Duck Race being held at the Jeff Jamboree on Saturday September 18th! The duck race begins at 2 p.m. and is a big part of the day’s festivities! Tickets are being sold at The Secret Garden and Jeff Pharmacy in Jeffersonville and/or you can call Greg at (845) 482-4600. There are four cash prizes and you do not need to be there to win. Hosted by the JEMS (Jeffersonville Enhances More of Sullivan) beautification group with proceeds used to benefit community improvements.

Happy Father’s Day to all the fathers!
