For those of you that have been driving to Jeffersonville down State Route 52, you have probably noticed how sad Lake Jeff looks. Jeffersonville is very close to losing their beautiful lake - the dam is in serious disrepair. Estimates from multiple engineering firms have put the cost of the repair at least at $200,000, and likely higher.

Some residents have formed “The Lake Jefferson Conservation Association and are asking all of us to help with donations or however we are able to help repair the dam and save the lake. Please visit LakeJeff.org to learn more.

Saturday, September 12th, the First Presbyterian Church is holding their delicious Pancake Breakfast with takeouts only this year. There will also be an area to eat outside to safely social distance or take your breakfast and enjoy it wherever you would like.

The Annual Tractor Parade will be next - call Jim Hughson at (845) 482-9826 with any questions and to participate (rumor has it there are a lot of great entries) followed by the Annual JEMS Duck Race (duck tickets are becoming rare- almost gone). Tickets may be purchased at most of the businesses on Main Street or contact Greg Brewer at (845) 482-4600.

Save Lake Jeff will hold its first Yard Sale fundraiser in the parking lot next to The Vintage House (kitty-corner across from the Jeff Firehouse). Come find out how you can help save the lake and find some treasures at the same time!

Remember, “one man's trash is another man's treasure”- watch the “Antique Roadshow” on TV? The Secret Garden will also be holding a Sidewalk Sale across the street and DJ Jim Wilkerson will be playing some great tunes for your enjoyment while you hear the clip clop of the beautiful team of horses pulling a wagon for you to enjoy rides in. Our local restaurants will have some great food too!

At Lorenzo's Bistro this Friday night you can enjoy great music by Albi Beluli who will also be entertaining everyone at the Biergarten (behind the Tavern) on Saturday night from 6-9 p.m.

Enjoy “Prime Rib night” at Lorenzo's this Saturday and every Saturday night with mimosas on Sunday! Then next Friday the BJ and Greg Band will be there. Please call and make a reservation as seating is limited.

We miss Jim the Barber - he has moved his business up to his home on Shamfield Heights in Jeffersonville. It was always a great visit when I stopped in to say hello and of course ask Jim for a favor! He can be reached at (845) 482-4430 to set up an appointment. He isn't ready to retire…yet!

Due to the Corona Virus - Covid 19 Pandemic, the United Reformed Church of Youngsville will not be holding any Drive-thru Chicken BBQ's this year. They would like to say thank you and send their love for your kind support. They wish everyone will stay safe and healthy too.
