Small Business Saturday in Jeffersonville was dreary, cloudy, with spurts of rain, sleet and drizzle but everyone still said they had a terrific day.

Many enjoyed a FREE horse drawn wagon ride sponsored by the JEMS beautification group! Santa rode in the wagon along with the kids, handing out toys. The Christmas music provided by DJ Jim and his elves was wonderful, putting everyone in a holiday mood!

Main Street businesses were very busy with local shoppers - thank you to all of you for not only visiting the businesses, but for shopping locally! Michelangelo's Restaurant had a slice of cheese pizza special and gave away free hot chocolate to warm people up too!

Down at the “Hughson Park” everyone had a great time at the first “Kris Kringle Marketplace” with homemade, handmade items andbaked goods too. Butch and his beautiful draft horse team gave rides back and forth to the Park, making it a fun way to travel. What a fun filled holiday time for you and your family!

The Villa Roma Holiday Parade held in the evening was also a great treat with lots of decorated vehicles for us to help get in a holiday mood. A big “thank you” to all of the businesses, people and volunteers that helped to make Saturday so good !

Anne from Domesticities and The Cutting Garden (4055 State Route 52, Youngsville) reports the shop is fully stocked with items new and vintage. They know you might not be comfortable shopping inside this season, so they've expanded their hours and options.

Holiday hours are Friday, Saturday and Monday's from 11-5 and Sunday from 11-4. In addition to their regular store hours, you can shop online and pick up your order by appointment. Items are being added daily to the online shop. They also offer contact free delivery within 20 miles of the shop.

They appreciate your business, and have a little gift for you with every purchase over $20.

All of us are so unhappy that the Jeffersonville Hardware Store has closed after decades of service to our area. I could always find something when I went in, and they had “stuff” that you couldn't find elsewhere because it had been discontinued.

You could run in and get a key made too! I can't tell you how many keys they made for me over the years. Bob put up and took down all the American flags (I hope he still will - I am scared to death of ladders) each year. Anything the Secret Garden shop needed; they were both there always helping.

I hope they both remain in the JEMS beautification group, they are an asset. Lots of luck to both Joan and Bob (and Miles too) for a great happy and healthy future!
