Joanne O. Morse of Damascus, PA passed peacefully away after battling a long illness on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at Ellenville Regional Hospital. She was 76.
The daughter of Joseph Edwards and Elizabeth Stratton. She was born June 25, 1945 in Monticello, New York. Joanne graduated from Monticello High School, Monticello, NY.
Joanne was a fantastic self taught cook and baker. She was famous in the family for her homemade pizza and beautifully decorated cakes for her daughters’ weddings and many, many birthday cakes for family and friends. Joanne was an avid gardener and reader, she crocheted for many years making family and friends beautiful Christmas ornaments and cherished doilies. She was a warm, gentle and caring person.
Joanne was a legal secretary in her early working years and a caring mother for her children’s youngest years. She had her own cleaning service then worked in the Roscoe Community Nursing Home before working for over 10 years at the Sullivan County Adult Care Center in Liberty, NY.
She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Edwin W. Morse of Damascus, PA, and her children: Adrienne (Alan) Snedeker of Bethel, NY, Jessica (Dean) McManus of Kerhonkson, NY, Edwin Morse II (Beth Ginalski) of Ithaca, NY; three brothers: Thomas (Peggy) Edwards of Monticello, NY, Lamont (Jill) Edwards of Albany, NY, Kevin (Kris) Edwards of Rochester, NY; a sister Patricia (Robert) Adams of Virginia; two grandchildren Casey (Lindsey) McManus of Saratoga Springs, NY and Hailey McManus of Kerhonkson, NY, and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, a brother, William Edwards and his wife Beatrice Newkirk.
A private memorial service for immediate family will be held at a later date.
