PARKSVILLE - Michael J. Kaiser, son of Michael and Elizabeth Kaiser of Parksville, was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Army, effective August 1, 2021.

Lt. Col. Kaiser is currently assigned to the 20th Engineer Brigade at Fort Bragg. He has previously served three combat tours in Afghanistan and was awarded the Bronze Star for his service. Lt. Col. Kaiser is a 2001 graduate of Liberty High School and a 2005 graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point.

He is married to Melissa Kaiser (née Hoos), of Livingston Manor. They live in Spring Lake, North Carolina, with their daughter, Olivia.
