Hi, hope you all are doing well. It’s that time of year when I get phone calls and emails for school taxes. “I AM NOT the school tax collector” so I am giving you all the information that you will need.

The tax bills should be in the mail by Sept 1st, I am the town tax collector, I will see you come January 1st.

Notice is hereby given that Doreen Hanson has received the 2021 School Tax Roll and Warrant of the Sullivan West Central School District.

You may make payment by sending your ENTIRE BILL and check to the address listed below, or if paying installments (Sullivan County only), send the stub for the payment that is due. Please write your Section, Block and Lot # on your check (i.e.: 20.-1-16.5) these numbers can be found on the right side, near the top of your bill. MAIL PAYMENTS TO: SULLIVAN WEST CENTRAL SCHOOL TAX COLLECTOR, PO BOX 2205, BUFFALO, NY 14240-2205 MAKE SURE YOUR PAYMENT IS FOR THE CORRECT AMOUNT AND THAT YOUR CHECK IS SIGNED!! If you have made an error on your payment, it will be returned to you for correction. If this is near the end of the month, this may result in a higher interest charge, according to the date postmarked. (Postage Meter will NOT be accepted!) INTEREST SCHEDULE: September 1 thru Sept. 30-Par, October 1 thru Nov. 1-2, November 2-3. The collection warrant is for 63 days and expires on November 2, 2021; at which time the undersigned can no longer receive payment. All taxes not paid to the District by November 2, 2021 may be re-levied as set forth below. Please take note that Sullivan County no longer collects taxes through November 30. The County of Delaware will continue its practice of collecting taxes following the expiration of the warrant through November 30, 2021 prior to re-levying. Any taxes remaining unpaid will be re-levied on the January 1, 2022 town and county tax bill with an additional 7% penalty added. I have fixed the following dates and places for receiving taxes: You must bring your entire tax bill when making payment to: Jeff Bank in Jeffersonville, NY Wednesdays & Saturdays, September 8, 11, 15, 18, 22, 25 and 29 between the hours of 9:00 am and 11:00 am.

If you no longer own this property, please forward the bill to the rightful owner or return it to the tax collector with the new owners’ name and address. Saturday Sept 18, 2021 The Cochecton Men’s Club is having a chicken BBQ. Pickup will be at the Cochecton Men’s Club ball field down in the flats by the post office between 2-4, donation is $13. The men’s club is also selling raffle tickets. Prizes are nice amounts of money, tickets are $20 each. For more information please give Sean Nearing a call at 845-807-3933.

Save the Date - Saturday, Oct 16. The Lake Huntington Ladies Aid will be holding their Penny Social. The ladies are working hard to get this event going, stay tuned for more information.
