Spring Break week has come and gone, and we are gearing up for all things spring! Gardens are coming together, morning walks around the lake are starting and plans for Summer are being made.

Here are a few upcoming local events that are happening in our community and nearby towns.

Save the date – The Cochecton Preservation Society celebrates 30 years after the shovel hit the dirt! Together we will remember the people who helped us along the way to rescue the Erie Depot. The remembrance dinner buffet will be on Sunday, April 30, at 3:00 p.m. at The Central House. Price is $45 per person. There will be a collection of pictures and good stories for friends to share. Mickey Barnett will perform the wonderful songs from the album he produced, “All Aboard!” RSVP by April 15 - more info at website cochectonpreservationsociety.com or email cps12726@gmail.com or call (845)932-8923 - Keith or (845)-932-8104.

Save the date – Lake Huntington Lake Association 1st Annual Earth Day Celebration on April 29th from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at 6692 NY-52, Lake Huntington, NY. More details to follow when available.

There will be a Penny Social on April 15, at the Lake Huntington Presbyterian Church on County Rte 116. The doors open at 11:30 and calling at 12:30. Donation $1.00. Hope to see you there. Any questions you may call, Vicki at 845-932-8923 or Grace at 570-729-8247. They are also looking for school students for adults that would help them with their penny social by being runners for them. That is taking the prize they won to them. If interested, please call Vicky at 845-932-8923.

Lots of great programs coming up this month at the Western Sullivan Public Library.  Family Garden Class on 4/17 at 4:30, Home Spa Lab for tweens and teens on April 28 at 4:00 p.m., take & make bird house – register by 4/23 and pick-up begins 4/26.
