Hello, hope you all had a nice 3-day weekend. My husband Tommy, who was a disabled Veteran, would always say to me there is nothing happy about Memorial Day. It is a day you honor and remember the men and women who fought for this country who never made it home.

Can you believe we are in June already, time is just flying by. I had to get my column in early, so I am doing it on Tuesday, May 25. Seven months till Christmas, did I just say that?

Lake Huntington Lake Association's annual raffle tickets are in my hands. One for $5 or 3 for $10. 1st Prize: Kayak and Paddle, 2nd Prize $150 Dicks Sporting Goods Gift Certificate, 3rd Prize $10 Cabela's Gift Certificate, 4th Prize Basket of Cheer. If you would like to purchase tickets to help save the lake, just email me and I can get them to you.

Cochecton Youth Commission's next trip is to Claws “n” Paws Wild Animal Park on Sunday, June 6th. Signups will be held at the Cochecton Town Hall on Tuesday, June 1st from 6:30 - 7 p.m. As always, free to Cochecton Youth! Any questions contact Krissy at (845) 807-8003, www.clawsnpaws.com. See you all at sign-ups!!

Looking to get out of the house and spend some time together? Here is something to look forward to! Laurel's hometown Cafe in Honesdale, PA has a great night planned. On June 10th, you can make these beautiful bonsai paintings. Please contact Michelle at (570) 419-8801 to sign up. Please remember seats are limited to allow for social distancing. The cost is free for Cochecton Youth and $40 for guests. Dinner starts at 5:30 and is included in the price. NOTE: Please direct all questions to the trip coordinator as we do not check email or facebook daily. These programs are funded in part by a grant from the New York State Office of Children and Family Services through the sponsorship of the Sullivan County Youth Board.

Hunting and Fishing Licenses - now available in Cochecton at Cochecton Town Clerk's Office. Obtain your hunting or fishing license by getting in touch with Maryann Oumrim, Town Clerk, DECALS Agent (845) 932-8360 Ex-11, 74 Smales Road, Lake Huntington, NY 12752.

Cochecton Clean-up Day is June 12 and 13 from 9 a.m. - 2:45 p.m. Items may be brought to the old town hall, 116 CR116, Lake Huntington.
