Lake Huntington - March 16

Its right around the 1 year mark with this very scary Corona virus. I got both my shots but I still wear a mask. To mark the anniversary I went out shopping and bought toilet paper, there was plenty on the shelf. I wonder how many people still have some left over from last year when everyone went crazy buying all they can. In my immediate family I know of 7 of them who had it. My oldest brother, he had it the worst. He also had pneumonia and he still gets very tired after 11 months.

Grover Hermann Hospital Auxiliary is celebrating their 50th Anniversary. The Auxiliary members would love for people to make donations to keep their organization going. They are a very big asset to our community. For more information please call (570) 224-6173 or (570) 729-8700.

George and his staff at the Lakeview Pizzeria and bar would like to thank everyone who came out for their St. Patrick's Dinner.

Remember March 21st - The Knights of Columbus is hosting a Corn beef and Cabbage dinner with all the fixings at Holy Cross Church on Rt 97 in Callicoon. There will be take-out or eat-in. If you would like to make a reservation or reserve take-outs you can email me, my brother Teddy is the Grand Knight. I try to help him out each year. The money they raise goes right back into the community to food pantries and outreach programs.

The tables will be 6 feet apart, you have to wear a mask, of course you can take it off to eat. Fr. Bill, God rest his soul, would always end his mass with the Irish Blessing. “May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face. The rain fall soft upon the field. And until we meet again. May God hold you in the palm of his hands.” Happy St. Patrick's Day to all. Fr. Bill has been gone 3 years as of Febuary 28. Does not seem that long.
