What is going on in this world, it's crazy. I pray for all of you to please be safe. I have been working from home. I stay away from everybody except my brother Teddy. He came to my house on Sunday, the 5th anniversary of my husband Tommy's death.

I made dinner when he came in the door. He went to kick me so I gave him a look. He said we have to bang feet that's how you say hello, crazy nut.

I have been talking to local businesses and I think you need to call first if you want to do a takeout to make sure they are still staying open.

Supervisor Gary Maas has a message to all in the Town of Cochecton. There will be no entrance to the town hall if you are sick or ill.

The Town Clerk's office is open Monday and Friday 9-1. Lorry King, the Assessor, and her clerk Terry will keep regular hours, Greg Semenetz, the Code enforcer and building inspector, is also keeping regular hours, as is the Supervisor.

Your best bet is to call first if you have a question or to make an appointment for all the town employees. There is a paperwork drop off in the vestibule.

No senior meals until the town is notified by the County. The Tax Collector, which is me, will be in the office when I need to be there.

Youall have plenty of time to mail your final town tax payment. There is no reason to come in to the office. I will miss seeing you but we have to be safe. If you mail your bill on March 31 make sure you go into the post office and get your stamp canceled. If you just put it in the mailbox it will be stamped April 2, up in Albany and I will not be able to take it.

The Cochecton Youth Commission has canceled all events for March and April, please follow them on Facebook or call for more information.

Lake Huntington Presbyterian Church has postponed the penny social till a much safer time.

On a happy note, Jerry and Judy Yavarkovsky are back safe from California where they go to visit their son. I was speaking with Jerry and he said all tutoring is canceled. If you have a question or having trouble with math you can call him at 845-932-8210.

If you are a business in Cochecton and need help getting the word out there on what you are doing for the community let me help you.

Keep smiling and WASH YOUR HANDS. Have a great week, you can e-mail me at leeniebeans@citlink.net or call 845-252-3568 if you have any news.
