A BIG CONGRATULATION to one of Cochecton's own Jackie Rutledge who ran in The New York City Marathon. Jackie ran with The Allyson Whitney Foundation Team. Jackie raised $7000 by herself and together with her team they raised $40,000. The Allyson Whitney is a Foundation that raises money to help fight rare cancer that attacks young adults.

Jackie ran all 26 miles and made it to the finish line in 4 hours and 40 minutes with the biggest smile on her face. Jackie made an Inspiration list for all 26 miles, each mile has a name next to it for a person she lost or is fighting and who have beat cancer. As Jackie was running her husband and family were on the side lines cheering her on, she stopped and gave her husband Brad a big kiss to keep her going. Great job Jackie God Bless You.

As Election Day draws near, I can't help but think back to when I first ran for council person. I remember being frightened yet excited. With the support of this community I was elected and have served on the board for 9 years. It has been an enlightening experience, and I'm grateful I had this opportunity. I would like to thank the constituents of this town for having the faith in me to be your voice. I hope I served you well. The present board members, Gary, Ed, Sean and Paul as well as former board members Larry Richardson and Richard Schulman, it was a pleasure working with you all, thank you for the experience. Mike Walters, as you run unopposed, I can say this - wishing you success! Anna Story.
