Our endorsement for the 2020 Election is simple - PLEASE VOTE! We know by now that many of you have already voted - either by absentee ballot or via early voting at the Sullivan County Government Center in Monticello. We also know this year, given the Presidential election, it will be one of the largest turnouts in our county's - if not nation's - history.

And for that, we are thankful.

We are thankful that our electorate is as passionate and supportive of their candidate as possible. During the past two weeks you have read more than 50 letters to the editor from our readers telling you why they are supporting their candidate and we appreciate the time and effort they took to submit these letters.

Today, you will find the final Candidate Statements from candidates all the way from the state down to the local levels. These statements present the platforms each candidate is running on and should give you even more information.

During the past two weeks we also presented stories about candidates in the Congressional, NYS Senate, Assembly and District Attorney's races after conducting in-person and telephone interviews. We hope you have found those stories helpful in your decision-making as we fast approach the Tuesday, November 3 election day.

As far as the Presidential race goes - we hope our electorate has watched some of the Presidential and Vice-Presidential debates, 60 Minute interviews as well as gathered news on each candidate's platform from reliable news outlets.

Each of our Presidential candidates - President Donald Trump and former Vice President Joe Biden - have a record of accomplishment and a vision for the future that you can judge for yourself.

We have the utmost faith in our electorate that they will elect the candidate that is best suited to lead our country for the next four years.

The same can be said for the other contested races, both statewide and local. Each candidate's record of accomplishment has been well documented and we again urge each voter to pick a candidate which best represents them.

Our advice does come with one word of caution. While pointing out your opponent's failures has become the norm in today's rough and tumble political landscape - we hope our electorate votes for their candidate because of their integrity, ability to do the job and strength of character.

We would like to thank each and every candidate for their participation in this year's election. We know, now more than ever, how difficult it is to put yourself in the public limelight and sometimes unrelenting scrutiny of those who have no other agenda but to make you look bad.

But it is only through fair and Democratic elections that our country continues to be a beacon for other Democracies around the world.

We are truly grateful that we have so many contested races on our ballot this year.

Our candidates did their job - now it's time for you to do your's - PLEASE VOTE!
