Liberty boys off to good start

LIBERTY -- Two games equaled two league wins for the Liberty Varsity Boys Soccer team.

First they traveled to James I. O'Neill on Monday, March 22, to take on the Raiders. The Indians came away with a 4-0 victory, with all goals scored by Liam Henry. Assists were provided by Owen Siegel (2), Chase Racette and Dennis Cardenas.

Then on Tuesday the Indians hit the road again, this time against the Chester Hambletonians. The Indians won in convincing fashion, with a dominant 7-0 victory.

Henry again led the scoring with 3 goals and two assists. Siegel and Racette added 2 goals and 2 assists each. Norlis Acosta had an assist.

Tri-Valley hosts Manor, Liberty

The Bears faced the Wildcats and Indians in a cross country meet earlier this week in Grahamsville. The Tri-Valley boys had the best X-C score at 25, followed by Manor with 43 points and Liberty with 53 points. No team scores were kept in the girls meet. Individual results are as follows ...

Volleyball

Warwick 3, Monticello 2

The Lady Panthers (1-3, 0-2 OCIAA) lost a close one to Warwick on Monday, 3-2 (18-25, 12-25, 25-21, 25-20, 25-15). Emily LaRuffa had 15 kills, 10 aces and 13 digs for Monticello, while teammates Maya Pacheco had seven digs, five kills and two aces; Lauryn Grodin had 10 digs, four aces, three kills, a block and an assist; Cayshia Herrera had 13 assists, three digs, two kills and an ace; Leah Taggart had three kills, two assists and a block, and Kyanna Sanchez had three aces and three assists.
