MOTHERS DAY: I hope everyone had a nice Mother's Day, remembering our dear Moms who gave us life.

I was blessed with an outdoor, safe visit with the promise that, hopefully we can all gather as we usually do, before too long. Chrissy brought the most delicious plum pie. She has a secret crust recipe that is perfect.

Cindy's husband, Stefan, made and brought me something that I'm sure every Mom would want. He, with help from his boys, Rudy and Cameron, crafted a wood lounge that is beautiful. He made the wheels by welding metal strips into a circle then added a full length, comfortable pad. He then heard, “I want one too” from more than one. He laughed and said.... “it's planting time at Gieger Farm”. No wonder Cindy calls him Superman.

NURSES: Thank you. The Democrat recently did a beautiful tribute to our nurses. What would we ever do without these dedicated people. Our personal thanks to Dr. Scoyni and Nurse David Klussman who saved the life of a very sick friend recently at Harris hospital. They are brilliant young men.

PHARMACISTS: I feel the pharmacists are a very un-recognized group of dedicated workers. With two pharmacists in the family, I am more aware of this. Your life may depend on their expertise and knowledge. God bless our daughter, Julie Burns and her son, Gene Burns, Jr. and all of our pharmacists. It is very stressful for them right now.

PRAYERS NEEDED: Our Jennifer Diehl asked for prayers for her husband Tom's, Uncle John Gain. I talked to Alice Diehl, John's sister who said he is very sick at home with Hospice. John Gain has been with Harris and Callicoon hospitals forever as Lab Technician…a greatly respected and loved employee. John & Pearl Gain love the Lord and accept His plan. It is hard for the family and we wish them strength.

SULLIVAN COUNTY COMMUNITY COLLEGE: So many young students wondering about the next step in their studies and usual summer jobs. I was chatting with my nephew, Dave Pollack, a Professor at SCCC and he was certainly sympathetic with the students and this major interruption. Dave usually travels during his Summer break to far off places. Last year to India -Sikkam to base camp of Mt. Kanchenjunga at the Himalayan border between India and Nepal. This year, all plans on hold. Thank God for technology so online courses can help some students.

NATIONAL EMS WEEK: I just heard this announcement. Yes, these people are such quiet heroes, never announcing how many lives they save especially since the drug problems became so rampant. Special thanks to all these volunteers which includes my former real-estate co-worker, Pete Feinberg.

SPRING IS HERE: My lawn is full of beautiful yellow flowers. That great lady, Harriet Forshay, always knows the positive way to think about things and she posted not to kill them because the bees need to feed on them. Gosh, I thought they were pesky weeds. Harriet, I'm sure, is missing her daily post at the elementary school where the kids love her.

Drive up CALIFORNIA AVENUE for a beautiful Spring scene where Kelly's rail fence remembers Marcy Heights and the flowering trees they planted are so beautiful. You might be able to wave at Gary and Judy Siegel or Barbara and Harry Edwards along the road.

THANK YOU for the positive comments about a LIBERTY column. Keep in touch. God bless us all and God bless America.
