SULLIVAN COUNTY — Sullivan County District Attorney Meagan Galligan announced that Andre Farrier, 49, of Wyandanch, New York, was sentenced today on his guilty plea to class A felony Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Second Degree. On July 8, 2021, Farrier, who has five previous felony convictions for weapons charges and drug sales and was driving without a valid license, was stopped by State Police on Route 17 in the Town of Mamakating. Troopers discovered multiple packages of vacuum-sealed, pressed blocks of cocaine in the vehicle, including in a coffee container and a bag of garbage. The weight of the drugs after lab analysis was well in excess of four ounces. A Sullivan County Grand Jury indicted Farrier, who subsequently pled guilty on March 17, 2022. He was sentenced before County Court Judge Jim Farrell today to 12 years of incarceration to be followed by 5 years of post-release supervision.

Galligan said, “High-level distribution of drugs like these leads to street-level violence and endangers our communities. I am grateful for the continuing partnership of my Office with the State Police and our local law enforcement agencies that lead to successful prosecutions like this.” Galligan thanked the New York State Police, including the Bureau of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Investigation Center, and Assistant District Attorney Michael Puma, who prosecuted the case.

Farrier was represented by the Sullivan Legal Aid Panel.
