Luther “Allie” Hasbrouck of Liberty, NY a lifelong area resident died, Monday November 18, 2024 at Garnet Health Medical Center, Harris, NY. He was 95.

The son of the late Theresa Vantran and Frederick B. Hasbrouck, he was born August 22, 1929 in Liberty, NY.

Allie graduated from Liberty High School and attended LI University and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education and played for LIU Basketball Team for Clair Bee; he continued on with education at Pheiffer College in NC. Allie proudly served our country in the US Marine Corps. from 1951-1953; he had worked for the Town of Liberty for many years and had been elected as the Town of Liberty Highway Superintendent. He enjoyed being outdoors and feeding his chipmunks at his home. Allie and Kathy were married on August 10, 1990.

Survivors include his wife, Kathryn Holladay Hasbrouck, at home; his children, Nancy McCarthy and her husband James and Judi Tatz and her husband Bob, Elizabeth Klimchok; one son-in-law, Michael Knack; his grandchildren, Charlie Roth (Ann), Chad Roth (Heather), Kyle Knack (Erin), Ethan Knack (Jen), Christopher Green, Michael Green, Megan Buttweiler (Robby), Caitlin Burns (Peter), Sidny Klimchok, Max Klimchok and Lara Klimchok; and his great-grandchildren, Morgan, Lucas, Ally, and Connor.

He was predeceased by two daughters, Barbara Knack and Patti Green; his brothers, Donald Hasbrouck, Frederick Hasbrouck, Jr., Luis Hasbrouck, Richard Hasbrouck, William Hasbrouck, Helen Whittacker, Alma Furman and Jane Hasbrouck.

Visitation will be Saturday, November 30, 2024 from 9 AM to 11 AM in the Harris Funeral Home, West St. at Buckley, Liberty, NY. Funeral services will be in the funeral home at 11 AM. Father Edward Bader will officiate. Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery, Liberty, NY.

Memorial contributions in Allie’s name may be made to St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church, 264 No. Main Street, Liberty, NY 12754.
