Put the power of your library card and Consumer Reports to work for you. Make better purchasing decisions by using Consumer Reports from your library's website. It's free with any Sullivan County library card. You can access all the articles, product reviews, and news that paid subscribers can access. All at no cost to you!

Just visit your library's website from any computer or device. Each library's website is different. The link to Consumer Reports could be on the home page or it might be listed with all the other premium databases available through your library. Call your library if you need assistance. Once you find the link, follow the prompts and enter your library card number.

Once you log in with your library card, you can read an article from the January 2020 issue of Consumer Reports magazine, like “Secrets to Great Customer Service” or “8 Ways to pay less for your RX Meds”. You can also browse past issues or search for an article on a specific topic. In addition, you can refer to Consumer Report's unbiased product reviews to compare brands, prices, and the quality of everything from air conditioners to yogurt. The website also includes news and information about issues that matter, like food safety and data privacy.

All you need is a library card. If you don't already have one, visit your local library and get one! It's fast, it's free, and it's easy. Just bring ID. (If your ID does not have a local address, you will also need proof of a local address: a piece of mail, for example). There may be a short application. Check with your local library for complete details. It's that simple!

Then put your library card to use! Go to your library's website, use the Consumer Reports database, and become an educated consumer. It will be the easiest resolution you make this year!
