On July 9, 2021, Margaret M. Grund (Peggy), born May 5, 1946 in Lewisburg, PA, lost her long battle with cancer. She fought without complaint for over three years.

She worked for 38 years at Community General Hospital, now Garnet Health Medical Center-Catskills, and retired in 2008 when her grandson was born. During this time, she also maintained a beautiful home and dedicated her life to her family. Her hobbies included flower arrangements, sewing, art, baking and traveling throughout the USA.

Margaret was an incredible partner and wife for 54 years to her husband Bruce, loving mother and grandmother. Her departure to go with God has left an enormous void in her family although they know she is now at peace.

She weathered the difficult times of Vietnam with her husband, standing strong by his side. Bruce and Margaret enjoyed so much through their time together like traveling the beautiful countryside with their camper, had the pleasure of boating and motorcycling.

She was Bruce’s wife, love and life.

Margaret also was an active supporter for her community and served as President of H. Russell Kenyon Post 5808 VFW Auxiliary in Fosterdale, NY.

Margaret leaves behind her husband Bruce, loving daughter Christine, husband Kevin Stauch and their son Robert Michael, her grandson and light in her life. In addition, she leaves behind her brother Charles (Chuck) Morris, lovely wife Elsie, along with their son James Morris, great nephew Josh, great niece Chelsea, and great-great niece, Juniper along with the newest addition, great-great nephew Grayson.

She was preceded in death by her parents Preston and Mary Morris, one nephew, Bradley Morris, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

She will be missed dearly by all of her close friends and loving colleagues who supported her throughout this difficult battle, never leaving her side.  She was also beloved and supported by her fellow church members from the Fosterdale United Methodist Church, under the faithful support of Pastor William Hagerty.

Friends may call at Stewart-Murphy Funeral Home, 5068 Route 52 in Jeffersonville, NY on Thursday, July 15th, from 5:00-8:00 pm.

A service will be held Friday, July 16th, at 11:00 am at Fosterdale United Methodist Church in Fosterdale, NY. Following the service, a luncheon/remembrance will be held at Michelangelo’s Restaurant in Jeffersonville, NY.

In lieu of flowers or donations, all can be made to the United Methodist Church in Fosterdale.
