ROSCOE, LIVINGSTON MANOR  —The new school district created following the merger between Roscoe Central and Livingston Manor Central school districts has offically been named the Rockland Central School District.

The decision was made by the Rockland Central Board of Education on March 18 utilizing input from the community and students who submitted their thoughts and ideas earlier this month.

The next meeting of the board will be a special meeting at 6 p.m. March 27 at Livingston Manor to nominate a community member from the Rockland Central School District to serve on the Sullivan BOCES Board.

A number of decisions are still pending from the budding school board, including the yet-to-be revealed mascot and school colors.
