Michael also contributed to the town in many other ways, serving on the planning board and the town council, and for four years, he was the vice chair of the county legislature. His leadership, integrity, and vision shaped much of the local government during his tenure.
Beyond his public service, Michael was a devoted husband, father, brother, and friend. He loved his Oakland A’s and LA Rams. He enjoyed coaching little league and his step-daughter’s softball team. He is survived by his loving wife, Donna Brooks, who stood by his side throughout his life and his many years of service. He is also survived by his parents, Charlotte and Clayton Brooks; his sisters, Faith Osterhout and Brenda Devore; his brother, David Brooks; his son, Cylus
