MONTICELLO — The Monticello Central School District is hosting a Healthy Lifestyles Evening focused on hope, prevention and recovery on Monday, April 11 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the Monticello High School cafeteria for parents and guardians of Monticello students.

The event will feature a panel discussion with Junior Sanchez from Follow Us to Success, and representatives from the Sullivan County Opioid Task Force, Catholic Charities, Sullivan Agencies Leading Together (SALT), Hope Not Handcuffs, and more special guests. Dinner will be served. The event will follow two days of substance abuse prevention programming during the school day — one for Robert J. Kaiser Middle School students and one for Monticello High School students.

The evening event will reinforce the lessons taught in those sessions with the adults of the Monticello community, including defining healthy living and combatting negative peer pressure.

Attendees at the Healthy Lifestyles Evening will learn about the many resources available in Sullivan County, how local officials are combating the opioid crisis, strategies to help children and teens make positive choices and learn where to turn in the event of a loved one struggling with substance abuse.

Please join us for this important event.
