Members of the Monticello Police arrested Justus L. McMoore, 37, of Monticello on Friday, December 16. McMoore was charged with the felonies of Burglary in the 3rd degree (2 counts) and Grand Larceny in the 4th degree. He was also charged with misdemeanor Petit Larceny.

McMoore was arrested following an investigation into two separate Burglaries that occurred at the “BEER WORLD” store located at 77 Pleasant Street in the Village of Monticello.

The Monticello Police Department (MPD) alleges that on November 4 at 11:15 p.m., McMoore did illegally enter the Store and did steal $821.45 worth of items.

MPD alleges that on November 7 at 9:15 PM he did again illegally enter the store and stole $2,826.30 worth of items.

MPD says they were able to identify McMoore through the store’s video surveillance system.

McMoore was remanded back to the Sullivan County Jail where he was already being held, without bail, pending the disposition of this arrest and multiple ongoing cases already pending in Court.

The filing of an accusatory instrument is merely an accusation and every person arrested is presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
