MONTICELLO – The Panthers briefly got back to .500 on the year after sweeping Cornwall in back-to-back contests Friday and Monday.

Judah Brown led Monticello with 17 on Monday. Monticello traveled to Goshen for a league contest on Tuesday and lost to the undefeated squad 64-35.

The Panthers are now 8-9 (3-4) with a game tonight against Beacon as they look to get back to .500.

Boys Basketball

Eldred defeated Tuxedo 54-42 on Tuesday night, then visited Livingston Manor on Wednesday to take on the Wildcats. Against Tuxedo, Trai Kaufmann led with 15 points, 15 rebounds, four steals and two assists. Kaufmann added an additional 21 points, 10 boards, eight assists and four blocks against Livingston Manor on Wednesday. James Deyermond added 16 points for the Yellowjackets. Daniel Tolbert led the Wildcats with 10 points and 10 blocks, while Logan Park contributed nine points.

Girls Basketball

Tri-Valley defeated Eldred 46-18 on Tuesday evening. Jenna Carmody led with 22 points and Emily Rusin added 12 for the Lady Bears. 

The Lady Comets lost a league matchup against Chester 58-23. Chester’s Allison Bono led all scorers with 22 points,  and Ashley Ingrassia led Fallsburg with six.
