Myra Siegel, a longtime resident of Monticello, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 27, 2021 . She was 84.

Myra was born on September 3, 1936 to David and Rose Ziporkin in the Bronx, NY. Myra graduated from Monticello High School and has been a lifelong resident of the area.

She was married to her late husband, Ronald Siegel for 61 years and leaves behind her children Jeffrey Siegel and wife Kathy, Barry Siegel and wife Donna, her sister Sonya Goodman and husband Jerry; Close cousins, grandchildren Lauren & Mike, Spencer & Elia, Jeremy & Rob, Daniel, Brianna; great-grandchildren, Jayla, Levi & Emma and close friends.

Myra loved her family, enjoyed checking in and seeing how everyone was doing, and was always excited to get a call or visit from her grandchildren. She worked for many years as a nurse.  Myra was a creature of habit with a love for Mahjong, her nightly Manhattan, 1990s era computer card games, hosting dinner parties, and visiting her beauty parlor.

Myra was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend who will be dearly missed. She’s now at peace again with her husband Ronnie.

A funeral service was held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, August 30th at the Joseph N. Garlick Funeral Home at 388 Broadway, Monticello, NY 12701. Interment followed at Baron Hirsch Cemetery in Staten Island, NY. Rabbi Simcha Zajak officiated. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Myra and Ronald Siegel to the Monticello Fire Department at 23 Richardson Avenue, Monticello, NY 12701.
