Narrowsburg Proper for your “New Year” Needs

Posted

I've always liked the finer things in life. I guess I take after my grandmother Shirley in that sense. I love hosting a great party, sipping fancy cocktails, and eating decadent meals.

This past New Year's Eve, instead of going to our regular spot, the North Branch Inn, (thanks, Covid), I spared no expense, and hosted a small family-only New Years Eve gathering. Six of us dined on charcuterie, a “raw bar” of oysters, crab legs, caviar, and our main course of filet mignon and sides.

I knew exactly where I needed to go for purchasing my spread… Narrowsburg Proper on Main Street in Narrowsburg. I've loved Narrowsburg Proper ever since I stepped in the store, with items you cannot find anywhere else. They call themselves a “not so general, general store”, and it is exactly that.

I placed my order for sturgeon caviar, picked up some drink garnishes, and some frozen Cochecton Fire Station mac and cheese (if you haven't tried this yet, run don't walk to get your hands on some!) It was such a special night with lots of laughs and great food.

I knew after our celebrations, I wanted to start the new year off right and partake in “dry January”, and once again, I found myself at Narrowsburg Proper. Narrowsburg Proper has a wide assortment of non alcoholic cocktails, non alcoholic beers, zero proof tequila, and flavored sparkling teas that I cannot get enough of.

Recently, we indulged in my Christmas gift of Waygu beef, with a bottle of non alcoholic “TOST”, a sparkling tea champagne that tastes just like the real deal. There are beautiful dried lemon and orange wedges as drink garnishes that make you feel as if you're on a beach, and not trapped inside your house in quarantine.

If I ever need to find a specialty item to make my everyday meal not so “everyday”, I know exactly where to go.
