The Hamlet of Callicoon in the Town of Delaware has two new handcrafted benches to enjoy. Sullivan West High School Student James McElroy built the benches as part of a community service project for his Participation in Government class. McElroy, who comes from a long line of skilled carpenters, built the benches out of pine and added a few coats of stain. McElroy (second from right) was joined on Friday (from left) by Callicoon Business Association Executive Board Member (CBA) Tom Freda, mother Kara McElroy and CBA Executive Board Member Fred Stabbert III.
