New show coming to Barryville studio

Posted

Ceramicist Nonna Hall the Founder of Nonneta and Friends Creative will be holding another in a series of ongoing artist collaborations at her art gallery and pottery studio in Barryville.

Starting on Saturday, October 2nd Nonna Hall and visual artist, painter and photographer Bette Blau will be holding a gallery show entitled “Remains” which will feature the creative works of both artists. According to Ms. Blau “I am interested in what is here now and what has been left behind: vintage ephemera, spore prints from mushrooms, fallen feathers, an abandoned nest or found objects.”

Ms. Blau is a graduate from the New York School of Visual Arts with a BFA in painting. After a successful career as a stylist for print and television, she transitioned into photography and began shooting the work of local artisans, capturing the beauty and nuance of their handcrafted work.

Bette’s work can also be found on Instagram @whatbettefound. The “Remains” show will take place at Nonneta and Friends Creative Pottery Studio, Art Gallery and Gift Shop located at 16 Old Brook Road in Barryville. The Opening reception will be on Saturday, October 2nd from 3-6 p.m. The Gallery Show will continue to be open to the public through Sunday, October 31st.
