THOMPSON—A new warehouse project that came before the Thompson planning board last year returned to the table on September 28, hoping to schedule a public hearing that would make the project much closer to reality.

On a 63-acre parcel of land off of Kroeger Road in Bridgeville, property owner Weiss Realty, LLC proposes building a 500,000-square-foot warehouse.

According to a recent traffic study provided by DTS Provident Design Engineering, LLP, the “proposed project will not significantly impact the adjacent roadway network. Safe and efficient traffic operation will be maintained throughout the study area.”

Furthermore, the study said the project has adequate parking spaces, and “delivery vehicles, emergency vehicles, and passenger cars can safely maneuver throughout the site.”

Kristen O’Donnell, Planner for Lanc & Tully Engineering and Surveying on behalf of the applicant, said that, as of now, no confirmed tenant would be occupying the warehouse.

The warehouse will be built intended to be one overall user but could have the option of being divided and rented out to several businesses, instead of one, according to O’Donnell.

The planning board stated that they would need to review all the submitted documents—which includes reviewing the traffic impact study— before scheduling a public hearing, and would be up for discussion in an upcoming Thompson Planning Board Meeting.

Monticello Motor Club

A public hearing has been set for October 26 at 7 p.m. for the Monticello Motor Club. The high-end race track is proposing to build private garages for its members in Monticello.

According to an environmental assessment form, the project will include five, two-story five-unit garage buildings within the race track grounds.

Furthermore, the assessment form states, “The first story is to store members’ cars with the second story having habitable space.”
