Time to start working on this year's election, yes already!

Looking over some of the past elections, it doesn't seem right to me that you can have one candidate run on all three major (R,D,C) political parties. It doesn't seem ethical since you can't be all these ideals.

For non-political offices such as Judgeships, Animal Control Officer, Sheriff, DA, Clerk, Coroner and such there should be a line for the office with the candidates' names which you check off the candidate you want not by political party as these offices are non-partisan. Their personal affiliation is a separate thing but the office isn't and should be won on their qualifications or such.

Now on the other hand, law makers are politicians and such have political parties they run under. It's impossible for someone to be a Democrat, a Republican and a Conservative all in one because the agenda and ideals are different for each. So for someone to run as all three, collect the votes from all 3 and then govern being all three is not possible with all the opposition going on within you.

I also can't see a political office going unchallenged thus leaving the incumbent the only choice, which leads to career politicians, whose only vote gets them elected.

Lastly, I don't see how an elected official can change party affiliation during their term. If you were elected as a Republican and a year or two later want to change to a Democrat then you should have to wait until the next election cycle due to the difference of ideals/agendas. Besides you were elected as said party.

Remember, you're elected as the voice of and for the people first.
