HONESDALE, PA — The General Service Administration (GSA) recently awarded an Electrical Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) - - commonly referred to as charging stations - - feasibility study contract to a team composed of LSR Federal, LLC of Severna Park, MD and Northeast Infrastructure, LLC (NEI) of 34 Brown Street, Honesdale, PA.

This 2.0-million-dollar project includes a nationwide comprehensive analysis, evaluation, and report for the installation of charging stations at VA hospitals in all 50 states.  This work includes the analysis and evaluation of existing electric utility supply capacity, solar photovoltaic (PV) power system energy production and existing electrical power distribution systems.  It will provide recommendations, phasing, budgetary estimates, and life cycle cost analysis for eventually converting 100% of the existing Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC) gasoline-powered light duty vehicle fleet to all electric vehicles (EVs) at each VAMC.

NEI’s portion of the project will include evaluating energy requirements and availability at 62 hospitals throughout the Southeast, Southwest and Northwestern United States including San Juan, PR, Anchorage, AL and Honolulu, HI.

NEI Chief Operating Officer, Dale Englehart said, “This contract is an excellent complement to NEI’s existing nationwide work within VA hospitals.  It significantly increases the workload at our Honesdale office.”

NEI is a 12-year-old, Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Business (SDVOSB) that specializes in Electrical and Mechanical Design renovation of VA hospitals.  NEI’s client experience includes servicing HVAC components and electrical system upgrades on over 40 VA hospitals from Manhattan, NY to Palo Alto, CA, plus numerous large scale commercial clients.
