Newburgh – Yet another major law enforcement organization is backing Republican Tim Dymond’s campaign for Sullivan County Sheriff in the upcoming June 24 Primary.
The New York State Union of Police Associations (NYSUPA) is the latest group to back Dymond in his race to earn the Republican nod for Sheriff. NYSUPA is a highly regarded statewide organization that represents more than 4,000 police officers, deputy sheriffs, and other law enforcement professionals across New York State.
Dymond was also endorsed by the International Union of Police Associations (IUPA) and New York State Police Investigators Association.
“NYSUPA’s endorsement is a result of your outstanding career in law enforcement, the leadership you provided as President of the New York State Police Investigators Association, and your recognition of all police officers as dedicated and hard-working employees who go out each and every day to serve the public at great personal risk and sacrifice,” NYSUPA’s President Anthony Solfaro said.
A lifelong resident of Sullivan County and lifelong Republican, Dymond was born and raised in Neversink and graduated from Tri-Valley High School.
He began his law enforcement service with the NYPD in 2005 patrolling dangerous neighborhoods in the Bronx. He later served as an officer with the Fallsburg Police Department before joining the State Police in 2008 (graduating at the top of his Recruit Class).
In 2012, he was named Troop F “Trooper of the Year”.
Aside from his professional career spent protecting the public, Dymond has been a longtime active community volunteer here in Sullivan County. He has volunteered as a youth football, basketball and soccer coach, and serves as the Vice President of the Tri-Valley School Board. He lives in Neversink with his family and can be regularly seen at his children’s games all over the county.
Republican Primary Election Day is June 24. The General Election will be held on November 4. Early Voting and Absentee Voting will be available for both elections.
