June Donohue
When I was a kid, a popular expression was DRY UP if you wanted to shut someone up. Well apparently I was asleep at the wheel because for days now I have had very dry skin despite applying my favorite moisturizing cream- CeraVe, vaseline, and lotion containing cocoa butter. and I'm not going to shut up about it. So someone must have said to me Dry Up and I didn't even notice. And somehow there's a new rule which I haven't even heard about where skin actually dries up.
I've always had dry skin but nothing like this. Could it be my age that is finally catching up with me? I have coupons that are about to expire for body wash that I never use. I have been busy writing out my will so I may expire before the coupons do so I'd like to leave them
to someone who could use them.
I've been planning a party for my 90th birthday in February so I'm determined to last at least that long. My grown kids who are helping me with that, tell me that I should no longer walk up and down steps unless someone is here. But I've never fallen, I say. I always hang onto the banister and I never carry anything as I do this. WELL HELLO ! Imagine my embarrassment if I did fall and even killed myself. I'd probably never get over it.
I could make a New Year's resolution not to do that any more but my resolution has been Not to make any more resolutions. So why am I spending time cutting out coupons when my time on this earth is limited? But then again, Everyone's is.
A friend and I once decided to not cut out coupons anymore. I even wrote about it in a column. We both drifted back to it, because we couldn't resist the temptation. Guess it was an addiction.. Dr. Phil says that if one is addicted to a habit that is hard to break, you have to replace it with something else. So I've decided to start drinking alcohol. Settle down everyone, I'm kidding. Truly I am really Kidding. I only have one glass of red wine about once a month when I eat out. I would have some more of that when I'm cooking but whenever I tried to do that, the meal didn't come out too well
One year I decided to practice playing the piano every day but that didn't turn out too well either. Daisy would decide to jump up on the piano bench with me and try to make a duet out of it. So my piano is now used for holding photographs.
Happy New Year Everyone! I hope I have helped you make it more enjoyable.
