Oscar F. Girrbach, a longtime resident of Kenoza Lake, passed away on Monday, January 30, 2023 after a brief illness, at the age of 91.

The son of Oskar and Louise (Schwartz) Girrbach, Oscar was born in Jamaica, NY on July 29, 1931.  He moved to Kenoza Lake at age 14. He served in the US Navy as a lithographer during the Korean War.  He was a printer and owner of Rural Press Printing for over 50 years.  His other occupations include raising chickens, truck driver, salesman and investing in real estate.  Later in life he became fascinated with the stock market and options trading.

Oscar was predeceased by his loving wife of 59 years Betty H. (Esselmann) Girrbach.  He is survived by his three children, John F. Girrbach of Kenoza Lake and fiancé Brenda Miller,  Bonnie Boyd and her husband Raymond of Fremont Center, NY, and David Girrbach of Daytona Beach, FL as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.  He was also predeceased by his sister Gertrude Bernhardt, brother-in-law Floyd Bernhardt, and by his brother and sister-in-law Carl and Theresa Esselmann.

He was a devoted husband and father.  He and Betty enjoyed a long and happy marriage, partnering together in various business ventures through the years.   He was her devoted caregiver during extended illness.  He was a wonderful father who cared deeply about his family, was very generous, and loved spending time with them.  He will be deeply missed by them.

Friends may call from 4-7 pm on Friday, February 3 at Stewart-Murphy Funeral Home in Jeffersonville, NY.  Services will be 11 am Saturday, February 4th at Kenoza Lake United Methodist Church, Kenoza Lake.  Pastor Bud LeConey will officiate.  Burial will be in Jeffersonville Presbyterian Cemetery, Jeffersonville, NY.  Memorial contributions may be made to Kenoza Lake United Methodist Church.
