Our Duck Race Mascot is missing!!

WOODRIDGE – Three years ago, Kiwanis of Woodridge welcomed its first annual Kiwanis Duck Race, a cheerful splash-fest where rubber ducks raced down the Morningside Creek for charity.  What started as a simple fundraiser soon became our best fun event!

Last year, a lack of rain meant water in the creek was non-existent. Hurleyville Fire Department stepped in to rescue the event by flooding the creek with water from their tanker.  We can’t thank them enough!

This year our prized golden duck, Patty Quack, the honorary race leader set to kick off the event this year on Saturday, July 12 at 11am in style, has mysteriously vanished.  Townsfolk have various theories:  a rogue squirrel with a taste for rubber?  A jealous rival duck?  A daring heist by a duck-loving secret society?  Everyone is encouraged to submit their own theories about what really happened to Paddy Quack at kiwanisofwoodridge@gmail.com.

The hunt is on!  A reward is offered for the best “Missing” poster.  Bring your “Missing” poster to the Duck Race for judging. You could win a great prize.  (Posters will be judged in the following categories – Children 5 – 12; Adult 13 and up). Judging will be done by “Paddy Quack & friends - if he’s found on time.
