Panthers get back in win column!

MONTICELLO – After their rough weekend going 0-2 in the Sullivan West tournament, the Panthers bounced back with a big 13-2 win over Tri-Valley. Monticello scored four in the first and two in the second to take a 6-0 lead before adding seven runs in the 4th to get to 13. Tri-Valley answered with two in the top of the fifth but managed just four hits in the loss.

High School (cont.)

Baseball

Liberty and Fallsburg had their second league contest on Monday, and Liberty won that game 12-1 to improve to 8-4 (3-1) on the seaosn. David Philips pitched four innings and allowed just one hit in the game.

Liberty’s Riley Totten had an inside the park HR in the win, and Derek Wheeler added two hits.

Following their loss to Liberty, Fallsburg hosted Ellenville on Tuesday and defeated the Blue Devils 13-7. Lucas Parisi earned the win pitching 2.2 innings, and Andrew Rein went 2-2 with a single, double, two walks and four stolen bases.

Gavin Storms added two hits and three RBI in the win.

Softball

Tri-Valley defeated Monticello 14-9 on Monday. Carmody had three hits including a triple, three stolen bases and four runs scored.

On Wednesday, Ellenville visited Tri-Valley and defeated the Lady Bears 12-4. Clare Verbert pitched the first five innings for Tri-Valley before Jenna Carmody came in to close it out.

Golf

Liberty, Ellenville and Tri-Valley golfed at the Sullivan County Golf and Country Club on Wednesday afternoon.

Tri-Valley scored a match-best 168 with Kaylee Poppo’s 49 the best score of the day. Ellenville scored a 195, and Liberty finished with a 210 score.

Track and Field

Monticello continued their dominant track season with a dual meet win over Sullivan West on Wednesday. The undefeated boys’ team won 124-16, while the 7-1 girls beat Sullivan West 85-52.
