On Saturday, May 24, Platinum Leaf cannabis dispensary in Rock Hill teamed up with the Sullivan County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SCSPCA) for a community pet adoption event.
“We’re always excited to work with people in the community,” said Kayla Garofano, manager of the SCSPCA.
Platinum Leaf owner Bernard “Bernie” Gonzalez said the idea came from a desire to give back. “We were looking for a way to give back to the community, so we partnered with the SPCA,” he said. “What’s a better way to give back than with puppies!”
To help draw in passersby, Gonzalez brought in a DJ and several cannabis vendors, including Dog Walker, for the afternoon event.
