Raymond William Schlott, was born in Brooklyn, NY on January 23, 1940 to William and Anna Nink Schlott. He passed away on July 23, 2022 at the age of 82. From early childhood he was a resident of Sullivan County, NY.
Raymond served his country in the US Navy as an electrician in the Seabees. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and rod building. He enjoyed attending Mass on Sundays, reading, and was a Brooklyn Dodgers and Mets fan.
Raymond was past president and business manager of IBEW Local # 945. He was a line foreman for NYSEG, a volunteer fireman with the Callicoon Center Fire Department, a member of the Bucktail Hunting Club, a member of the National Fishing Lure Collectors Club and a parishioner of St. Mary’s Church, Obernburg, NY.
He leaves behind his wife of 61 years Maureen Halloran Schlott, and his children John (Bonnie), Michael (Charlene), Raymond (Tina) and Theresa (Steve). His grandchildren: William, Vaughn (Zoe), Kassandra, Brianne Lehman (Colton), Erica, Micaela, Arin, and Leizel. His step-granddaughters Tony and Kelsey Riddle and great-step-granddaughter Everly, as well as many extended family members and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents and his sister Edith Calkin.
Friends may call on Friday, July 29, 2022 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Stewart-Murphy Funeral Home, Jeffersonville, NY. Firematic services will be Friday at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at St. Mary’s Church, Obernburg, NY. Father George Baker will officiate. Interment with military honors will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Obernburg, NY.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Callicoon Center Fire Department or donations made to St. Mary’s Church, PO Box 1, Obernburg, NY.
