SULLIVAN COUNTY –– The Sullivan County Republican Committee met on Wednesday evening to pick the candidates they would endorse in the major elections this fall.

According to Chairman Gary Maas, they endorsed Alan Kesten (County Coroner), Russell Reeves (County Clerk) and Tom Cawley (District Attorney).

Furthermore, even though Cawley received the endorsement, the committee, by majority vote, granted Acting District Attorney Brian Conaty (a Democrat) a Wilson Pakula authorization, which will allow him to seek a primary against Cawley, if he so chooses.

The Committee also endorsed a slate of candidates for Sullivan County Legislature. They endorsed Legislative Chairman Rob Doherty (District 1), Vice Chair Michael Brooks (District 3), Joanne Jasper (District 2), Nicholas Salomone (District 4), George Conklin (District 5), Joe Perrello (District 7), former Fallsburg Town Judge Amanda Ward (District 8) and former Ulster County Legislature Chair and now Rock Hill resident Terry Bernardo (District 9).
