Richard Maus, son of the late Edwin and Rita Maus, passed away on February 10, 2023 at the age of 71. Richard was born in Callicoon N.Y on September 8, 1951 and grew up on the farm in Youngsville with his 3 brothers. 

Richard started out life as a gas station attendant before diving into his longtime profession of asphalt paving. He worked for Poley Paving in Liberty, NY for over 30 years as a heavy equipment operator and crew leader. Over his years with Poley they did numerous jobs in the local region from high schools to city streets and even had the opportunity of paving the Army football field, that he talked about often.

Richard was a family man and could be found on a sideline or bleacher watching his boys or out mowing his lawn and enjoying the fresh air when not working. 

He had friends everywhere he went and was always stopping to say hi. He will be missed. He leaves behind two sons, Timothy Maus (Claudia) of California, where Richard resided his last 3 years, and Kevinryan Maus of Texas. Richard was blessed with all granddaughters, Chloe, Caylee, Kaitlyn, Mikayla, and Olivia. He also leaves behind his three living brothers, Dave, Carlton, and Tom Maus, of Sullivan County.

Richard will be cremated and handled by England Family Mortuary in Temecula, CA, and will be laid to rest later in the year as weather permits at Hillcrest Cemetery in Damascus, PA with Edwin and Rita. A Celebration of Life will be scheduled at that time for family and friends.
